Important Update: Changes to U.S. Shipping and Prepaid Import Duties
To our lovely customers in the United States,
I have an important update about shipping your orders from Japan.
For the Japan Post shipments covered by the current requirements, import duties must now be paid before a parcel can be accepted for shipment to the United States. This means I can no longer send these orders using the previous arrangement, with any import charges handled after arrival.
To keep sending your stamps and stationery from Japan, I need to arrange the required customs declaration and payment before shipping.
Why U.S. shipping charges are changing
The additional cost includes both import duties and a processing fee charged by the service used to arrange the advance payment. That processing fee can be a significant part of the cost, especially for smaller orders.
I wish I could keep shipping prices unchanged. Unfortunately, these additional costs are too large for my small shop to absorb in full.
The revised shipping charges are intended to help cover postage, prepaid import duties, and processing costs, rather than to add extra profit. I have rounded the amounts slightly to allow for differences in estimates and currency conversion, and I will review them as I gain more experience with the new process.
Updated U.S. shipping charges
For orders sent from Japan using this postal shipping option, the shipping charges are:

These are the total shipping charges, not extra fees added on top of the previous shipping price. They include an allowance for the import duties and processing fees I pay before sending your parcel.
This update applies to the Japan Post shipping option described above, not to separately fulfilled print-on-demand products.

Every order means a great deal to me. I know that higher shipping costs make a difference when choosing a small treat for yourself, and I have thought carefully about how to keep shipping to you in a sustainable way.
